Earlier this month, a Teen Mother Choices (TMC) Program posted a picture of a teen mom and her mentor. The program asked its Facebook followers to congratulate this teen mom, who completed a difficult part of her Cosmetology training and is now studying to become an aesthetician. Many followers congratulated this young woman; one of them was her mother!
Her mother wrote,
“My youngest daughter with her mentor at Teen Mother Choices. I am so proud of her. She’s enrolled in college, has a new job that she loves, is getting her driver’s license, and has grown into an absolutely wonderful young lady. Wanted to give TMC a HUGE shout-out for all they are doing for so many young single mothers in our community. TMC is truly working miracles in her life. I have been praying for years that she would recognize her inner strength and turn to God on the days that seem so dark. I’m so grateful for the opportunities TMC has given her to grow, the constant encouragement, and, most importantly, the validation of her worth to God as well as others. Your acceptance of her as an individual has given her the ability and desire to mend the broken pieces of her heart and strive for a better future for herself and her son. Thank you for loving my daughter. May God bless you, and all of the volunteers who are making such a huge difference in the lives of others!”
It’s inspiring to read how this mother watched her daughter make changes in her life through the help and support of TMC. But, most importantly, we join her in praising God for the work He has done in her daughter’s life. TMC’s mission is to serve teen moms, but what a blessing to know others within the family are watching and seeing God at work.
