I have been walking with Wende, our Program Director at TMC-Blessings in Kent, Ohio, through a dry season for most of this school year. Despite her efforts to connect within the community and enroll more teen moms in the program, there has yet to be much movement. We have faithfully prayed for God to open the right doors in His time and help us be faithful while we wait. Her Board of Directors encouraged her to contact the High School Counselors in the community, which proved to be more challenging than it sounds.
But God! He moved a young couple into the house across the street from Wende and her husband. After inviting them to their home for a meal and sharing about TMC, Wende learned that one of her guests was a counselor at a local school. The school counselor had access to a database of all the email addresses of the other counselors in the surrounding area. She offered to share the database with Wende and may invite her to the monthly school counselors’ meeting!
God also reconnected Wende with the local pregnancy center TMC-Blessings had previously worked with. During that meeting, she learned that the woman running the center was new to her role and hadn’t heard about TMC. She was excited to learn about the program and took brochures to share with her clients.
The praise party Wende and I shared at God’s timing, and provision was such an encouragement to both of us! He provided more than we could have asked or imagined, and we are excited to see what He is going to do in this next season!
