Consider this …
In Ephesians 6, the Apostle Paul commands us to “Put on the full armor of God.” As part of the armor, Paul identifies the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit. But where’s the protection for my back? Why is my back left exposed?
Deuteronomy 33:12 says, “He surrounds them continuously and preserves them from every harm.” God promises to surround and preserve me, and because we weren’t created to fight alone, His people fight alongside me. Through prayer, exhortation, and carrying one another’s burdens, The Body of Christ covers my back while we fight together.
As I put on my armor today, I will remember that God is my Protector and generously provides His children to fight with me.
