My name is Wende Campbell, and I have been the Program Director for Teen Mother Choices® (TMC®) Blessings for the last five years.
I was a teen mom. It was not an easy time in my life, but God can use the hard times in our lives to fulfill His purpose, if we follow His lead.
Our ministry was modeled after Teen Mother Choices® in 1995, but we became an affiliate in 2019. Our program, at that time, was hitting some roadblocks and Teen Mother Choices International® came along our side to help us overcome those challenges. Often, we only served one teen mom at a time and fervently prayed for more to be involved. More than once, we felt maybe God was telling us that the program was no longer viable in our community and almost immediately, we would get a message or application from a teen mom.
God was telling us to press on. His timing and His plans are always perfect.
During those times, we were able to put together a more solid structure in the way we operate. We learned and grew by serving one teen mom at a time. God knew that He could make a difference no matter how many moms we had.
What a joy and honor it is to watch God work right before my eyes. I can welcome a new teen mom into the program right where she is. Piece by piece, I can watch God go ahead of her and move her forward, from uncertainty to empowerment.
I give thanks to the LORD for allowing me to use the difficult times in my life and the gifts He has given me to serve Him and these amazing teen moms.
