My experience as a child of a teen mom has been rewarding as well as challenging. There is a uniqueness to being a child of a teen mom. You learn firsthand how to navigate the complexities of life, and you get an opportunity to glean at a pivotal time in your mom’s life. Life is hard—we all know that—but trying to find yourself while trying to teach someone else can be difficult for anyone to manage with or without a manual. My mom had to grow up fast as she juggled completing high school, while married with identical twins.
I desire to empower teen moms through serving with TMCI® by being a beacon of light. My sincere hope is that I can enlighten, elevate, and experience this chapter of life with the moms I encounter. We all need to be reminded that when life gets hard, there is a community fighting with us. I want teen moms to feel heard, understood, and free to just be themselves. I know firsthand how hard it can be to juggle learning yourself, coupled with learning to be a mom while finding your purpose.
I want each teen mom to believe that God can use them in mighty ways (Acts 4:16) and that miracles give us faith, and mistakes give us grace. The message is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The method is how we respond when we are in our toughest battle; how will I react? (Acts 4:23-31)
Father, help me to be like Peter and freely use the name of Jesus to bless those in need around me. (Acts 3:6)
Thank you, Jesus, for the amazing opportunity to serve as I got to learn firsthand, that you grow through what you go through.
My sincere prayer is that you received something from this message, something that compels you to come alongside me and invest in the lives of teen moms.
