Welcome to the Antioch Office!
Blessings to you from the Antioch location of Teen Mother Choices! I am Kathy Mitsuuchi and I have been privileged to be the Director of Student Services here since January of 2006. Besides living for the glory of God, being a wife to my husband and mother to my three almost grown children, I can’t imagine doing anything else but serving the courageous young ladies at TMC. Every life is a precious gift from God and I respect these young ladies for choosing life for their unplanned pregnancy. Teenagers are so optimistic and excited about how they can change the world for the better. That is the joy in serving teen moms!
Please contact me if I can help you in any way with questions or referrals to local resources. Likewise, if your are looking for a place to serve as a volunteer, please contact me at 847-338-8587 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are so excited to share news of our graduates from last spring with you below. As our two graduates transition out of TMC and into TMC Alumni, the Antioch Office has several openings for teen mothers aged 13 -19 who would benefit from our program at Christian Life Fellowship. Please contact Kathy if you are someone in need of services or would like to refer someone you know! Finally, coming soon, our web visitors will find helpful Lifeskills information and other community resources when they visit our RESOURCES tab on the TMC home page. Thank you!
Antioch Graduation May 2013- Lizzy Hough & Monica Kirkeeng
Lizzy Hough participated in the program for 3 years and is a graduate of Grant High School. During her time in the program, Lizzy earned her driver’s license, obtained a car and is a manager for a children’s clothing store.
Monica Kirkeeng participated in the program for just over 3 years and is also a graduate of Grant High School. Monica also earned her driver’s license, obtained a car and is employed at a family-owned business in Wisconsin and moved into her own apartment.
Antioch’s graduation night began with encouragement for Lizzy and Monica from individuals in the Lake County MOMS group, Teen MOPS from Hope Church , and our own Linda Crump,TMC Alumna, who helps bridge our graduates into community involvement and spiritual growth. Next we listened to “The Words I Would Say” by Side walk Prophets. The chorus reads: “Be strong in the Lord. Never give up hope. Gods got His hand on you, you’re going to do great things.” Next we talked about the key to “winning the race of life” where having the right attitude is a key component. A poem that talks about a woman losing her hair and her positive attitude towards this made her a blessing to God and a happier person! After saying accolades about each graduate, we prayed for them as a group and read Philippians 1:4-6 over each of them. “…I always pray (for you) with joy… (knowing) that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” Both young mothers look forward to staying involved with TMC in some way as they make room for other teen mothers to take their place in the fall.
