Did you know that the fact that you were born during this time in history is not just by chance? When God thought about you, He determined that during this time in history He would place you on planet Earth.
Once you can wrap your mind around the concept that the God of the Universe placed you here it’s time for you to figure why. What gifts and talents do you possess that no other person has ever had or will ever have again? What is it that you are supposed to do with those gifts and talents?
You may be thinking that the only thing you can do now is be a mother. Yes, your baby deserves to have a mother who is committed to him or her. However, just because you’re a mother, your other gifts and talents didn’t get thrown away with your baby’s afterbirth. You still have them. And in order to be the best mother you can possibly be for your child, you need to utilize those other God-given gifts and talents as well.
Maybe you never thought about what gifts you possess. It’s not too late. We encourage you to seek out those talents that are specifically yours. Here are a few ways you can begin your search.
- Think about the things that interested you before your baby was born, or when you yourself were a little girl. Maybe you loved to draw, or take care of sick animals or people. The things that you enjoyed doing when you were a child can help you search out your gifts and talents.
- Besides remembering your own childhood memories, a guidance counselor at your high school may be able direct you towards tests and materials that will help you identify your talents.
Whatever you do, find out why God created you. He knows what gifts and talents He placed inside of you. Your job is to find out what they are. Once you find them you will realize that you are not here just by chance.
